...is back!
This is assuming that I can get together 5-8 participants who can attend. The fee for this amazing online class is 200.00 (US) per attendee. More information will follow, but until then, here is an exerpt from my communication with Prof. Gunn:
Tuition: 200.00/person
Attendees: About 6 is right, but I have dealt with a class of 7 or 8
Timing: The assignments last four weeks and then I give students four weeks to complete their story; I'll try to attach a description to this.
Frequency: I'm not sure how this differs from timing, but students are expected to complete an assignment each week and comment on other students' work for the first four weeks and then critique the stories during the final four weeks.
Reference Material: I recommend my Scarecrow Press book THE SCIENCE OF SCIENCE-FICTION WRITING, which also contains the syllabus for the on-line workshop.
More information will follow...
Please post if interested. The ideal class size for him is 6 people (emails are hot and heavy, on par with the learning) and I totally recommend it. It the class I took years back, and now, it's back! And, if more than the 6-8 people want this, Professor Gunn may - as he had when I took the course - set up another at a later time period.
Please feel free to link to this. I only have a small group on my mutual friend list, and the widest coverage for this would come from everyone spreading the word.
Interested Potential Participants for next session:
Well, LJ edit didn't seem to like it when I user-named everyone. Let's try this simpler.

If he has another one in three months or so, please, please, please tell me about it. SF is my favorite genre, the hardest for me to write, and of course the one I want to write in.
It's something that has benefited me greatly.
One day I'm hoping to make that. It's on my must-do wishlist.
Certainly let us know if there's a second round. I don't plan on any other drastic energy/time sucking activities after December.
That should work.
I was directed towards this workshop by a friend of mine
Do you mind if I 'friend' you, as well? No need for you to friend back.
I'll look over the syllabus, etc. tonight/tomorrow, and have to look at calendar, etc.
I found this via a link from
(Also, I'm going to friend you if you don't mind--just a heads up).
And my day job is Social Services. Sad to say that we're busy all the time...
